HLTAID011 Provide First Aid 

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Duration: 1 Day (5.5 hours including lunch break) in a face-to-face classroom environment

Successful participants receive a Statement of Attainment for:

  • HLTAID011 First Aid Certificate valid for 3 years

  • HLTAID009 CPR Certificate valid for 1 year

 

Validity is in accordance with the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

CPR Only

Duration: 2 hours in a face-to-face classroom environment and provided mandatory pre-work

Being prepared in critical situations can make a significant difference and potentially save lives.

In this course participants learn essential life-saving skills, including CPR, wound care, and how to respond effectively during emergencies. The course equips individuals with the knowledge needed to provide initial medical assistance, promote safety, and stabilise injured individuals until professional help arrives.

Course Content:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on infants and adults

  • DRSABCD action plan and responding to emergency situations

  • Handling unconscious casualties

  • Understanding of using a defibrillator (AED)

  • Roles and legal responsibilities of the first aider

  • Managing bleeding, burns, fractures, dislocations and other injuries

  • Managing medical conditions such as allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, asthma, strokes and seizures

  • Poison management such as bites, stings, and choking

  • Safety and risk management

CPR only Course Content:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • DRSABCD action plan and responding to emergency situations

  • Handling unconscious casualties

  • Understanding of using a defibrillator (AED)

  • Legal responsibility for first aid

  • Infection control procedures

Eligibility and Requirements 

Compulsory requirements:

All students must present a total of 100 points of identification as proof of identity on the day of training with appropriate documentation.

For more information refer to the Evidence of Identity Form which will be provided on the day of the course.

All students undertaking nationally recognised training require a USI (Unique Student Identifier) number. If you do not have a USI number
